North Korea and a Mongolian sumo grand champion

Asashoryu, a Mongolian sumo grand champion, has been bullied by the Japanese mass media for more than a month. This time, it is unusual. It smells of conspiracy.

I examined the news. Then I found a conspiracy related to North Korea. But I'm no more surprised. I'm already bored with such a conspiracy.

Time line

From July 10 to July 17 Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito visited Mongolia.

July 19 N. Korea warns Japan of consequences if it presses abduction issue.

North Korea on Thursday accused Japan of "abusing" the issue of Japanese citizens abducted to North Korea in the 1970s and 1980s to scuttle the six-party denuclearization talks, warning that if Japan fails to fulfill its commitments to provide energy aid, the nuclear issue will remain unsettled.

July 22 Mongolian yokozuna (sumo grand champion), Asashoryu, wins battle of yokozuna, 21st title.

Since then the Japanese mass media began to criticize Asashoryu day after day.

August 9 Mongolian president to attend SCO summit as observer
Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar is scheduled to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan in late August as an observer, according to the press office of Mongolia's Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

Mongolia hopes to boost economic cooperation with SCO nations in the fields of electric power, infrastructure, transit and transport. It also wants to obtain information about related cooperation projects at the SCO summit, said the press office.

Mongolia became the observer nation of the SCO in 2004, while its president, prime minister and ministers have attended the SCO conferences in recent years.

Founded in China's economic hub of Shanghai on June 15, 2001, the SCO groups China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, with Mongolia, Pakistan, India and Iran as observers.
August 22 Japan Sumo Association won't allow Asashoryu to return to Mongolia.
Japan Sumo Association Chairman Kitanoumi is not ready to allow Asashoryu to return to Mongolia despite suggestions by his association's chief doctor that the grand champion receive treatment in his native country.
Hypothesis

In the past, the relationship between Mongolia and North Korea was strained. But the two countries have boosted their bilateral ties. Japan lost control over North Korea. Japan was confused. North Korea's second-most senior leader visited Mongolia. Japanese Crown Prince visited Mongolia and Mongolian sumo wrestler won the tournament. For all the efforts Japan has made, Mongolia went to SCO and North Korea. Then, Japan began bullying Asashoryu.

Japan's Conspiracy (28-2)

the strange relationship between Japan and North Korea

In the previous topic, I talked about the relationship between Japan and North Korea. Once again, suspicion appeared.

In the Seoul National Capital Area, there are 27 bridges across the Han River. One of the bridges, the Seongsu Bridge, collapsed on October 21, 1994. On the very day, the US and North Korea signed an important agreement on nuclear issues in Geneva.

=== chronology ===

North Korea accedes to the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) on December 12, 1985. North Korea announces its intention to withdraw from the NPT in 1993. In response, the US declares sanctions. The relationship is strained at once. On June 15, 1994, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter negotiates a deal with North Korea in which Pyongyang confirms its willingness to “freeze” its nuclear weapons program and resume high-level talks with the United States.

Everything seems to go well, but leader of North Korea Kim Il-sung suddenly dies on July 8. Some believe that he was killed. His son, Kim Jong-il, succeeds Kim Il-sung. North Korea again reaches an agreement with the US on the nuclear issue on October 18. The signing ceremony is scheduled for October 21, 1994. On the day of signing, the Seongsu Bridge collapses.

If the death of Kim Il-sung had been Japan's conspiracy, there would have been many things which explain a lot. The date has nothing to do with historical chronology. But, on that day, Naples summit opened. Chiaki Mukai went to space. She was the first female Japanese astronaut who had ever gone to space. Leaders of developed countries were confused. The date would have been the perfect time to draw people's attention away from the conspiracy.

Japan had no patience for North Korea's embarkation on a new opening to the West. North Korea was the last bastion of Japanese colonialism. Japan was afraid of losing its clout in the Korean Peninsula. Unified Korea would surpass Japan in the future.

Japan's Conspiracy (28-3)

Japan-Palau Friendship Bridge

I found this story while I examined the collapse of I-35W Mississippi River bridge in Minneapolis. This bridge is well-known for its collapse.

Chronology

In 1914, Japan invaded the islands, then formally took over under the Treaty of Versailles after the WWI German defeat.

In 1944, the US forces fought the Japanese forces to capture an airstrip on Peleliu, an island in the island nation of Palau, during WWII. The battle cost about 13,000 lives on both sides.

In 1947, Palau became a UN trusteeship, administered by the U.S.

In 1977, a balanced cantilever prestressed concrete box girder bridge with a main span of 240.8 m and total length of 385.6 m (1265 ft) was built by Socio Construction. It was designed by Dyckerhoff & Widmann AG (German construction company). It was called "Koror-Babeldaob Bridge".
PALAU Helicopters

In 1994, the UN terminated the trusteeship. Palau attained independence.

On September 26, 1996, The Koror-Babeldaob Bridge collapsed.

In 1997, its construction began by Kajima Corporation, a Japanese construction company, and was completed in December, 2001.
Koror-Babeldaob Bridge (English Wikipedia) (Japanese Wikipedia)

( The construction company "Socio Construction" is also known as the company which got involved with the construction of the Seongsu Bridge in Seoul. But "Socio Construction" was a Palauan company and the relationship between the company and South Korea is obscure. )

The collapse of Koror-Babeldaob Bridge ( Comments are groundless and biased. )
Suspicions

1. Quite a many Japanese web sites explain the collapse of this bridge. But, as Wikipedia explains, most of the explanations are false and exaggerated. Their criticism against South Korea smells of hidden intention. There are many web sites that blatantly express false information in Japanese particularly with regard to certain countries. Japan has had such history for many years. Japan knows that false written information becomes the evidence of history in the future, because there will be less evidence that can be used to vindicate the truth in the future.
Google search in Japanese "KBブリッジ" or "KB Bridge"

I began to investigate the collapse of the Seongsu Bridge in Seoul when I read the false Japanese information on Palau.

2. The climate is rather calm in Palau. But a gust occasionally blows. According to the Guam observation point, the nearest observation point to Palau that offers weather information in the Internet, the strongest wind last month was 51 mph. Under these circumstances, it is natural that a bridge which gradually erodes collapses during storms or typhoons. It is unusual that such a bridge suddenly collapses on an ordinary day.
History for Guam, weather in July 2007

Gust Wind 51 mph
3. The name of the new bridge is too good to be true. It is unusual for a donor nation to be pleased to see its name in the name of the new bridge.

4. I don't think that the collapse of Palauan bridge have anything to do with the collapse of the bridge in Seoul.

5. Before the collapse of the KB Bridge, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) carried out an inspection. It cannot be denied that Japan is also responsible for the collapse. Since Palau's independence, Japan's influence has been increased.

6. At that time, Japan was eager to show the power of the Japanese construction industry. South Korea was catching up Japan in some industries. Japan had a motive for the conspiracy.

7. September 26, the day of the collapse, was the date, 11 days after the amphibious operation in the Battle of Peleliu, when fierce battles were fought between the US and the Japanese forces.

8. The Palauan national flag is very similar to the Japanese flag.

A glorious battleship of the Imperial Japanese Navy

In the previous posting, I talked about the Japan-Palau Friendship Bridge. Many websites say that Koreans built the bridge. But their comments are untrustworthy just because they are Japanese and just because they say in favor of Japan.

Japanese know that they will be bullied in their society if they say in favor of foreigners such as Koreans, Chinese, Americans and British. There are few people who talk back like me because they know they will be ill-treated by their employers.

The international community may think that most Japanese spontaneously behave that way. This misunderstanding contributes to the hidden suppression of free speech. The trick is so subtle that they are doubly guilty.
Japanese battleship Yamato image

Battleship Yamato Memorial Tower

This time, let me show one understandable example of fabrication.

Yamato and her sister ship Musashi were the largest, heaviest, and most powerful battleships ever constructed, weighing 72,802 tons at full load. There are many things to talk about this ship. But the problem is the location where she sank.

Since 1945, it has been said that Yamato sank near Tokunoshima Island. The Battleship Yamato Memorial Tower was erected in April 1968 on Cape Inutabu, located in the southwest part of the small island of Tokunoshima. Most Japanese websites give almost the same information. I don't know a nation where people are so indifferent to the facts except Japan.

Once I made a complaint to the local worker about the falsification of important information. He said, "It's OK. Japan is a country of myth." I am surprised at Japanese anachronism. They don't distinguish mythology from historical facts. For them, not the facts but what others say is important.
Battleship Yamato Memorial Tower on Cape Inutabu

The wreck of Yamato was discovered and explored with an underwater submersible in 1985. Today Yamato lies at 30-22 N, 128-04 E in the depth of 1,410 feet about 50 miles southwest of Kyushu, Japan.

No Simple Mistake

  1. On April 1945, Yamato was dispatched to Okinawa for her final mission. But she was already chased by American submarines. The Japanese codes were deciphered by the US navy. The US navy staged a fierce attack on Yamato off the southwest coast of Kyushu Island. She sank there. She didn't reach the sea area off the coast of Tokunoshima Island.

  2. After the wreck of Yamato, it was easy to identify her location because the US navy had the accurate information.

  3. The mushroom cloud of Yamato was seen from Kagoshima, which is 200 kilometers from the site.

  4. More than 200 Japanese sailors on Yamato survived. They knew the location of the wreck site.

  5. In 1985, the location was announced. But I think that it was announced just because it became possible to explore the reck due to the development of submarine technology.

  6. The government couldn't inform the people about the wreck of Yamato, the flag ship of the Japanese Combined Fleet off the coast of Kyushu Island. So, the government built the memorial tower on Tokunoshima Island. I know their excuse. They would say, "Yamato sank off the coast of this island for sure." They are eager to let the people think that Yamato sank near Okinawa Island.

Battleship Yamato and Prefectural Governor Chiba (added on January 4, 2010)

Kensaku Morita is the governor of Chiba Prefecture. He shares the same image with the battleship. He used to be an aggressive actor who played the role of a young hero. In fact he was born on December 16, 1949. The battleship was commissioned on December 16, 1941. It cannot be a coincidence.

His father was a policeman at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He is a good example of Japanese militarism. The story of a drama in which he played the role of a hero was a sarcastic parody against the US.

Japan's Conspiracy (28-5)

China is beyond and above Japanese argument.

There are many Japanese websites that slander the Korean construction industry. But they don't reflect major Japanese opinions. In Japan, many people are mobilized to manipulate public opinions and opinions in the Internet are not the exception.
ペトロナスツインタワー (Google search in Japanese : "Petronas Twin Towers" )
This time, I talk about the problem later. Let me introduce a Chinese skyscraper under construction. This building surpasses Japanese argument against a leaning building.

Competition between Japan and South Korea

Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur is the second tallest building in the world. These towers were completed in 1998. The twin towers, with 88 floors, rise to 452 m. It was surpassed by the Taipei World Financial Center in 2003.

The structural engineer for the Petronas Towers was Thornton Tomasetti and Ranhill Bersekutu Sdn Bhd of Malaysia.

In an unusual move, a different construction company was hired for each of the towers, and they were made to compete against each other. Eventually the builders of Tower 2, Samsung Constructions (the Construction Division of Samsung Corporation), Kukdong Engineering & Construction (both of South Korea), won the race, despite starting a month behind Tower 1, built by Hazama Corporation (Japan), although Tower 2 ran into problems when they discovered the structure was 25 millimeters off from vertical.
Petronas Twin Towers

CCTV skyscraper

I'm not sure why Wikipedia provides this information only on its English site. But I examined the leaning problem of a skyscraper a little.
A surface of a building can be hotter than another surface by more than 10 degrees C due to the strong sunshine. There can be some thermally expandable deflection. Strong winds and earthquakes could shake a building even a little. So, leaning of 25 millimeters would be negligible. Such minor leaning can be modified during the construction by adjusting the thickness of the surface concrete.
But Japanese websites invariably slander the Korean construction company.

A Chinese skyscraper leans more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

But a novelly designed skyscraper in Beijing blew away the minor claims. A headquarters building of CCTV (China Central Television) is under construction. This building leans more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is not a mistake. Its leaning is part of the whole design of the building.

While Japanese slander Koreans, Chinese rise above the controversy. This situation starkly reflects the political and economic circumstances among the three countries.

Some people say he told a lie, but others say he didn't. Then, what is the problem?

The problem is that his comment lacks critical information in terms of communication.

For example, at the news,

1. Two animals ate food at Disneyland.

2. Two men ate dinner at Disneyland.

3. A Japanese man and an American man ate dinner at Disneyland.

4. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President George W. Bush ate dinner at Disneyland.

5. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President George W. Bush discussed North Korean issues.

These different news represent the same problem.

There are quite a many dubious news in Japan. They sometimes seem to be true, but often seem to be untrue.

They lack critical information, sometimes intentionally.

This kind of manipulation is not done only in the news.

Semantic manipulation is often seen even in the more important cases.

Antiterrorism Law

The name of this law isn't really "Antiterrorism Law". This name is just an abbreviation of a Japanese law in English. I have never seen a law whose name is so long in Japan.

(the full name of the law : my translation)

"Special law related to the measures taken by the Japanese government in collaboration with the activities of foreign countries for the purpose of achieving the goals of the Charter of the United Nations and against terrorist attacks including September 11th terrorist attacks in the US, and the humanitarian measures based on the resolutions including UN resolutions."
Japan Self-Defense Forces

Lower House

This kind of law always has a hidden intention.

First of all, the abbreviation of this law is doubtful. I feel sick every time I hear the abbreviation at the news.

The abbreviated name of this law in Japanese is "special terrorism measures law". This abbreviation in Japanese seems to be not against terrorism but for terrorism. I wonder why such confusing abbreviations are used.

I think this is because Japan is a terrorist supporting country behind the stage. If it is not, the government and mass media should give up using this confusing abbreviation in Japanese. There should be no problem.

There is a variety of alternative names for the law such as "Anti-terrorism law", "terrorism defense law" or "law of cooperation with US forces" in Japanese.

These abbreviations would be much more comprehensible.

I read the name and content of the law again and again but I couldn't understand the meaning though I'm well-informed of laws and legal activities. Laws which are too complicated to understand would not deserve to be laws. It is apparent that few voters and parliament members understand the law.

It is possible to form a military alliance even with North Korea when the law is perverted. The law is so well-crafted.

Terrorist groups such as North Korea, al-Qaeda or Taliban say that their purpose is world peace in accordance with the UN Charter. Japan once went to war with the same logic during WWII.

This is a hypothesis.

Transport Ships That Carry Aircraft

Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) has transport ships. What are those ships? In general, they are transport ships for military use. But in the MSDF, the definition of a transport ship is a little different. But in reality it is doubly different.
"transport ship" Wikipedia in Japanese
(There are no naval categories in English)
Some amphibious assault ships are a little similar to transport ships, but they are strictly distinguished from each other in other countries. Technically speaking, the MSDF has no amphibious assault ships in Japan, though some of its transport ships are virtually amphibious assault ships.

Far from it. Japanese transport ships carry aircraft. Aircraft can take off and land the ships.
MSDF's aircraft carrier building plan (Wikipedia in Japanese)
They are virtually aircraft carriers. I hear that there have been voices of protest. But the MSDF and defense analysts talk back.

"Although those ships seem to be aircraft carriers, they are never aircraft carriers because their equipment is insufficient as qualified aircraft carriers."

This logic is something like the sophism below.
Osumi-class tank landing ship

Channel Tunnel

1996 Channel Tunnel fire

"My automatic rifle is not a weapon but a toy because not bullets but peas are loaded into the rifle."

I want to stop here. It is too absurd to continue.

Of course, it is against the Constitution. Aircraft carriers are not needed for defending Japan. In Japan, there is no place in which there are no airports. Amphibious assault ships cannot defend Japan.

The Japanese government may hope that they will attack Pearl Harbor again.

By the way, transport ship Osumi went to the Indian Ocean to support Afghan operation (Japanese site). The purpose was said to be fuel supply. But I wonder how many aircraft they actually carried.

Channel Tunnel Fire Occurred when Japanese Tank Landing Ship Was Launched.

Both events took place on November 18, 1996. They were not a mere coincidence. The Japanese government has an evil propensity to carry out secret terrorism in order just to enhance its jubilation according to date puns in the calendar.

Definition of Family Origin

The family is an important unit for Japanese. But when it comes to the definition in Japanese, it is very confusing.

The current Constitution of Japan was established in 1947. Article 14 of the Constitution provides that all of the people are equal under the law and that there shall be no discrimination in political, economic or social relations because of race, creed, sex, social status or family origin.

The problem is the word "family origin".

In 1947, the Japanese word that was frequently used to mean "family origin" was "monchi" or "門地" in the Chinese character.
Constitution of Japan

In the original Japanese Constitution, ”門地" was used to express the meaning of "family origin".

Strangely enough, this word has now become completely obsolete. The word "門地" is rarely used in the news. Some people don't know the word. Some people misunderstand the word even though they can pronounce it.

Now most Japanese use "kazoku" or "家族" in Chinese character as the alternative Japanese word.

This word "門地" is now rarely used in the newspaper. It is unusual that the word which was used in the Constitution has become obsolete very soon. I believe that the government has killed the word instead of amending the Constitution. It is virtual constitutional amendment. In Japan the control by the government is so strong that bureaucrats could force companies, local governments and schools to follow them without messages.

Just think about the situation in which all the people forget the word "family" and in which they read the Constitution. And you could imagine what will happen next.

I'm not sure if Prime Minister Shinzo Abe knows this word or not, but he often proudly says, "My grandfather and my uncle were prime ministers. My father was a foreign minister. And my brother is a Diet member."

Japanese Red Army

Hijack of Japanese Plane in 1970

Japan Airlines Flight 351 was hijacked by nine Japanese extremists on March 31, 1970 while flying from Tokyo to Fukuoka, in an incident typically referred to in Japanese as the Yodo Hijacking.

Strictly speaking, the perpetrators were not members of the Japanese Red Army, but they were actually Japanese ultraleftists.

Japanese ultraleftists are all government agents. The Japanese government moved a variety of agents in and around Japan, sometimes throughout the world. The tradition of government agents stems from the ninja system in the feudal period. Japanese ultraleftists, extreme rights and cults are mostly government agents. They share something in common.
  1. The government's control over them is always loose though they pretend to crack down on them.

  2. After their arrest, indictment or imprisonment, very little information is available. Some are released at some time or other. Some enjoy going on an extravagant spree before people's eyes.

  1. The victims, the time and the place of their crime has often something to do with the Japanese government's domestic and international affairs. Their crime often benefits the government, local governments and politicians.

  2. Though they assume varied forms such as extreme rights, ultraleftists and religious cults, they have neither substance nor unified theories.

  3. Activity funds that are crucial for maintenance of the syndicates is obscure.

  4. They are often treated as criminals but often seem to be heroes. The attitude of mass media and intellectuals is doubtful. Journalist don't ask politicians about their reality.

  5. The leaders of these groups are often stupid males or impudent females. But everybody knows that they are simply puppets.

The leader of the Japanese Red Army was a female Japanese, Fusako Shigenobu. She declared the dissolution of the group from the prison in April 2001. This year, when 9.11 terrorist attacks occurred, it seems that al-Qaeda replaced the Japanese Red Army.

Now, let me talk a little about the ultraleftists who hijacked the Japanese airplane. Today, North Korea hopes that the US will remove North Korea from its list of terrorism-sponsoring states. Japanese hijackers are now an obstacle for North Korea. But Japan sees the hijackers as if they were a liaison between the two countries.

From the very start, the hijacking was committed for the purpose of driving a wedge between China and North Korea. Until the resolution of the hijack case, Pyongyang felt an increasing political tension with China. Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai was supposed to arrive in Pyongyang. He was waiting in Beijing. He finally arrived at the airport in Pyongyang in the afternoon just after the hijacked Japanese airplane took off for Japan on April 5.

In the communique between China and North Korea, harsh criticism against the revival of the Japanese militarism was included. Japan had no patience for such a criticism.

Manipulation of Typhoons

I collected weather data and verified the weather manipulation on August 9. But unusual weather has continued (See 19, 20, 23-1).

Typhoon Fitow hit Tokyo. And it is a good opportunity to verify past typhoon data.

The reasons for the argument are as follows.

1. I have been suspecting that there are some patterns in tracks of typhoons.

2. In and around Japan, there are many events and cases in which there may be some weather manipulation.

3. I have recently known that some disasters may benefit a country or its economy.

Typhoon Fitow made landfall near Tokyo and went North through Honshu Island. It is often said that typhoons are supposed to go through the Japanese archipelago, but it is impossible to explain the reason only by topography and meteorology.

First of all, I processed some past typhoon information. Then I found that more typhoons pass through metropolises than other rural areas in terms of probability. It is conspicuous in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sendai. Let me talk about the concrete reason for the typhoon manipulation later.

While there are conspiracies in typhoons, there are another conspiracies in earthquakes. The reason is as follows.

  1. Massive earthquakes such as 1923 Great Kanto earthquake and Great Hanshin earthquake are suspected of conspiracies.

  2. I used to live in Tokyo. I thought there were unusually many earthquakes in Tokyo. The situation cannot be explained only by earth science.

  3. While I examined the collapse of the I-35W Mississippi River bridge in the US, I knew that earthquakes as well as typhoons can be beneficial to the society in a sense. Let me talk about it later.
Today, let me stop here. As I don't have enough time, my information may be insufficient. So, I would like you to check it in the Internet.

The Japanese Archipelago is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. It is natural that there are a lot of earthquakes in and around it. Yet, its biased seismicity distribution is unusual. Metropolises, particularly Tokyo, have many earthquakes (data base).

Disasters and Economy

I-35W Mississippi River bridge

The collapse of a freeway bridge over the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis gave me a critical clue to the solution of the Japanese government's conspiracy on disasters.

In the past, I had a vague image about the relations between disasters and economy. I thought that disasters were always beneficial to construction companies and that Japanese construction companies always looked forward to natural disasters.

Even a child can think of this kind of idea. But this logic cannot explain why the nation manipulates disasters from the viewpoint of economic rationality.
I-35W Mississippi River bridge

collapse of the bridge

On the other hand, the disaster at Minneapolis defied my common wisdom. In the US, bridges are classified into several stages through periodic inspections. I had a vague idea about building inspection, but I had never heard of periodic inspections at that time in Japan.

Why? Does Japan have such sophisticated technology? At first, I thought that way. But the number of bridge collapse is too few.

I examined in detail the climate and geography of Minneapolis. As the result, I found that some normal data themselves had something to do with the collapse of the bridge.

Minneapolis rarely has earthquakes. Hurricanes rarely reach that city. The climate is relatively mild. And one day, I finally got one unusual idea.

Natural disasters bring benefits. They occasionally save lives.

Fortunately or unfortunately, earthquakes and typhoons destroy ramshackle buildings in Japan. They actually play the role of the strength test. Buildings that could endure big earthquakes or typhoons are regarded as safe afterward. Thanks to the natural test, human periodic inspections could be omissible.

In addition, thanks to their endurance tests, buildings can be used without human inspection until they are destroyed by natural disasters. When they are destroyed by natural disasters, nobody is to blame. Nobody complains. They bring enormous economic benefits.

This logic also helps government bureaucrats and construction companies. Building inspection is problematic. If they say they passed the inspections, they bear the responsibility for future accidents. Otherwise, they become embroiled in arguments on the waste of the budget and the preservation of the tradition.

Natural disasters cut enormous costs, but they help some people and organizations escape from responsibility at the same time.

Periodic building inspection is very important in countries where the climate is mild. But in some countries where natural disasters often occur, this is not an important topic.

The Japanese government had known it for some time. Some other countries had known it, too. But only Japan tried to manipulate natural disasters.

In a sense, typhoons may save lives. Typhoons often destroy bridges in Japan, too. But there are few victims. Most people have already taken shelter. On the other hand, in Minneapolis, where the climate is relatively mild, quite a many people and cars were involved in the disaster. I have never heard of this kind of tragedy in Japan. Since dangerous bridges have been already destroyed by typhoons or earthquakes, bridge collapse is improbable under normal weather in Japan.

In Japan, some major earthquakes kill and injure many people, but their magnitude, place and time are artfully adjusted. In metropolitan areas, most earthquakes are appropriate in magnitude for building inspection.

After Minneapolis tragedy, periodic bridge inspection became a major issue in Japan. But as I expected, most bridges are not inspected. Only 13 percent of municipalities conduct regular checks of bridges. But this figure is yet unreliable.

This is the major reason why earthquakes and typhoons frequently hit metropolitan areas in Japan. Some disasters are apparently artificial ones in their place and timing.

This conspiracy brings huge profit to the nation in total. But however they produce profit, how many people are fortunately saved, artificial disaster control is never justified. It is a heinous crime against humanity.

Japan's Conspiracy (31-4)

Suspicious Suspension Bridge

Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the world's longest suspension bridge is located near Kobe. The building of this bridge went smoothly from the start of work in 1986 to the completion in 1998. I thought it was a wonderful bridge when I drove through it several years ago.

But I became suspicious of another thing when I wrote my opinion about the Great Hanshin Earthquake. The reason was simple.

Most earthquakes in Japan seem to be artificial ones usually with political and economic purposes.

The Great Hanshin Earthquake occurred on January 17, 1995 at 5:46 a.m. The date was the same as the dates when Operation Desert Storm started and when Northridge earthquake occurred in Los Angeles. These three events occurred early in the morning in their local times.

When I knew the coincidence, I was amazed. Yet I couldn't explain why the very place of the earthquake, the area around Kobe and Awaji Island, was chosen.

Japan's conspiracy is mostly characterized by a special combination of a specific time, place , people and the kind of event. The best combination produces maximum effect. It is quite natural. The maximum effect is an important point for bureaucrats to be promoted.

For several weeks, I was considering the reason. But it was not until I examined the collapse of I-35W Mississippi River bridge that I suspected there had been a reason why Kobe area had been chosen. There was only one construction project around Kobe at that time. It was the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge.

Building Miniature Suspension Bridge

Intensive attention is necessary for building a suspension bridge. We can know it when we make a miniature suspension bridge.

  1. erecting two suspension bridge towers
  2. setting two main cables on the two towers
  3. putting bridge beams suspended by hanger ropes one by one
During these processes, we are the most nervous when putting bridge beams. If a bridge tower falls, or a main cable is cut, we must start from the beginning.
Quake Proof bridge

So, after setting two main cables, we want to examine the strength of the bridge by shaking it. It is a reasonable try. We can continue to hang the beams one after another at ease.

On the other hand, shaking the bridge after the completion is extremely dangerous.

The same thing should have been done with the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge

I mean the bridge was artificially shaken by the earthquake just after the setting of two main cables. The reasons are as follows.

  1. In fact, the Great Hanshin earthquake occurred in the two islands which the bridge connects. The focus of the earthquake was located 16km (shallow) beneath its epicenter, on the northern end of Awaji Island, 20 km away from the city of Kobe. But the figures are yet doubtful.

  2. There were actually at least two predictions about the earthquake. Such prediction was quite unusual. One was by Aum Shinrikyo cult and another one was reported by a major weekly magazine.

  3. The scale and damage of the earthquake was exaggerated. A shortage of water hampered the fire brigade’s efforts. A resumption of power distribution by Kansai Electric Power later caused fires one after another. I remember that motorcycle gangs impeded fire fighting. I think the resumption of power distribution was a serious failure. But the seemingly great disaster helped to promote the superbness of Japanese architectural technology.
A Study of Damage Cause by Fire

Based on lessons learned from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the fire prevention measures taken against fires that could have been triggered by a resumption of power distribution in the Niigata quake seem to have led to a decrease in the rate of fire breakouts.
  4. Though Kobe was a major city, some opposition party politicians complained that there had been no ruling party politicians in Kobe at that moment. They said some of them had been in Kobe at that time.

  5. The time of the earthquake was the best period of the day to adjust the damage of the quake. Only a few Shinkansen bullet trains were moving in the early morning around Kobe.

  6. NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) suspended its national TV programs more than one hour and people in other areas didn't know what had happened. I knew the earthquake around noon. I was really surprised for the late information. The government and mass media complacently said that they had been unable to get the information since communications had been knocked out. But some people freely communicated by using mobile phones and the Internet communication system.

  7. After the earthquake, earthquake prediction became a big issue for Seismological Society of Japan. But it finally decided not to make a study on earthquake prediction.
    http://wwwsoc.nii.ac.jp/ssj/FAQ/FAQ2.html#2-2

    (Seismological Society of Japan FAQ)

    短期的な予知は, 現在の技術では「ほとんど」できないと考えられている

  8. There were unknown risks about soil stiffness, strength of the bridge, and so on. Architectural calculation could not solve all the unknown problems. The easiest examination was to shake the bridge. The size, the depth and the place of its epicenter were almost the best for the examination. The government was confident of the safety of the bridge but they wanted a perfect completion.

  9. A theory of peacocks

  10. There are a lot of evidence of conspiracy with regard to the date of the earthquake, the political background, and so on. But I only talked about the relations with the suspension bridge.

Japan's Conspiracy (32)

Gambare!! Ibrahim Gambari.

Funny Political Puns

The Japanese government is obsessed with sarcastic allusions.

This country often cherishes some children from the cradle to the grave. This is something like training young boys into terrorists. They are often smart, healthy but poor children with few close relatives. Japan hopes that they will play a critical role in the international political arena in the future, particularly for Japan.

Among them, name puns are funny.

I have heard some politicians, often African politicians, with such names. I don't remenber all of them, but let me take three politicians who I now remenber. But this is my hypothesis.

Kofi Annan

When the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred, he was the UN Secretary General. Another diplomat with the name of "Anan" was Koreshige Anami, the Japanese ambassador to China. His family name Anami or "阿南" is formally pronounced "anami", but it is mostly pronounced as "anan" among Japanese. His father was a top army general at the end of WWII. He committed suicide by seppuku. I thought that Kofi Annan's nomination was just a joke.

Mr. Annan won a Nobel prize after the 9/11. I don't think that he achieved a successful result as the secretary general. Most UN PKOs were failures. His son was involved in the UN Oil-for-Food Programm scandal. Mr. Annan criticized the US government to the end.

Mr. Anan was the Japanese ambassador to China for 6 years though the bilateral relatios were very bad.

Kenyan former president Daniel Arap Moi

He was one of Japan's most favorite African politicians at the time when Yoshiro Mori was the prime minister in Japan. Mr. Mori met Mr. Moi in 2001. I remember that their meeting was specially celebrated by Japanese mass media. But I was suspicious of the similarity of their names.

UN special envoy to Myanmar Ibrahim Gambari

When I heard his name for the first time, I couldn't help laughing. "Gambari" literally means "working hard" in Japanese. "Gambare!!" or "Ganbare!!" means "Go for it!". When he meets the Myanmar military regime leaders, he seems to encourage them just because of his name. He is a critical diplomat for Japan. Japan has a special political connection with the regime. He has been in Japan for a few days. No wonder the UN chose him as this special envoy.

It is very convenient to raise such children. If they are unaware of the reason why they were chosen, the situation is more convenient. They may know the reason later, but they can not distance themselves from Japan. Their names cannot allow them to do so. Their names reveal their adoptive father. And, more conveniently, except themselves and Japanese, who knows.

Japan's Conspiracy (32-2)

Funny Political Puns (2)

Previously I talked about three cases of politicians below.

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan
Kenyan former president Daniel Arap Moi
UN special envoy to Myanmar Ibrahim Gambari

And this time, let me pick up two cases more.

Olusegun Obasanjo

His last name "Obasanjo" sounds very funny for Japanese. "Obasan" literally means "an old woman" in Japanese. But it is in fact a funny and insulting expression. If you use this word to a Japanese young woman, I'm sure she will go mad.

Mr. Obasanjo is a retired Nigerian Army general and former President of Nigeria. He has visited Japan more than 10 times. He is not only a Japanophile, but also a good friend with former Japanese prime minister Junichiro Koizumi. He rushed to Japan to say "Thank you" to Koizumi when Koizumi was going to resign in September 2006.

A growing number of critics within Nigeria have accused Obasanjo's government of selectively targeting his anti-corruption drive against political opponents and ethnic militants, ignoring growing concerns about wide-scale corruption within his own inner political circle.

Barack Obama

There are at least nine places whose names are Obama. It literally means a small beach in Japanese. Obama is a good old name. Obama city in Fukui is near Kyoto. It has many historical relics related to emperors. Obama hot spring is another old tourist destination.

Japanese borrow the word "barrack" and pronounce "baraku" in Japanese in the same meaning. So, his name is very easy for them to remember.

He came from Hawaii. Hawaii is a place which has complicated history with Japan. Japanese TV and newspaper companies obviously support him. His word "Change" always reminds me of the same catch phrase Koizumi once used.

Bill Clinton

The name of Hillary Clinton, another presidential candidate, is a little difficult for Japanese to pronounce. And some Japanese confuse her last name with Japanese sweet "kurikinton", mashed sweet potato with sweet chestnuts.

By the way, there was a funny episode between Bill Clinton and Japanese former prime minister Yoshiro Mori.

in July 2007

Prime Minister Mori was given some basic English conversation training before he visits Washington and meets with President Bill Clinton. The instructor told Mori,

"Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Clinton, please say 'how are you'. Then Mr. Clinton should say "I am fine, and you?" Now you should say 'me too'. Afterwards we, translators, will do all the work for you."

It looks quite simple, but the truth is ....

When Mori met Clinton, he mistakenly said "Who Are You?" Mr Clinton was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor: "Well, I am Hillary's husband, ha ha..."Then Mori replied confidently "Me too, ha ha ha.."

Then there was a long silent moment in the meeting room.

I have little information about the presidential candidates in the US. Yet I know that its process is much better than that of Japan. As the history of Greece and the Roman Empire shows, progressive political systems often suffer interruption and subversion. I hope the election will go smoothly.

I respect US presidents simply because they are really elected by Americans.

Funny Political Puns (3)

Previously I talked about five cases of politicians below.

Kofi Annan, Daniel Arap Moi, Ibrahim Gambari

Olusegun Obasanjo, Barack Obama

And this time, let me pick up four cases more.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy

Though I don't dare to insult Mr. Sarkozy, his surname is pronounced "sarukoji" in Japanese. And this pronunciation seems to represent him very much. He often broke up with his girlfriends. "Saru" means "monkey" (猿). "Saru" has one more meaning; "to leave" (去る). "Koji" means "orphan" (孤児). So, "Sarukoji" means a "lonely monkey orphan". Strangely, this Japanese pun represents his current political situation very well.

Former French President Jacques Chirac

"Shiraku" is also a traditional Japanese word. In Japan, there is a comic storyteller whose name is Tachikawa Shiraku. Jacques Chirac became president in 1995, and the same year Tachikawa Shiraku was promoted to a full-fledged master. According to the Japanese Wikipedia, he was named after Jacques Chirac in terms of the stage name. Japan and France have had close relations, and this closeness was accelerated during Koizumi's period to a large extent.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

His name is quite difficult for Japanese to remember. And his name sounds me something like "Ahojanezo" in Japanese, meaning, "I'm not a fool". Though I don't mean to be rude, his beard seems to make him look like a beggar.

His Anti-Israel statements with holocaust denial and accusations of antisemitism may make Japanese Red Army wild with joy.

Osama bin Laden

This terrorist is usually pronounced "USAMA" instead of "OSAMA" in Japanese. Why have Japanese media chosen the unnatural pronunciation? Because, OSAMA means "the king" in Japanese. So, they obviously try to avoid the people's misunderstanding. Yet, I wonder why there are so many names that are similar to some Japanese words in the world.
Sarkozy and Bush

Sarkozy and Gordon Brown

Ahmadinejad

※ It is said that Ahmadinejad is around 5 feet 4 inches tall. The picture shows that he is shaking hands with a foreign politician. But the picture shows a stepstool. In the case of Sarkozy, few pictures show his whole figure. And few pictures show him standing with other taller politicians.
In addition, the name of Bin Laden includes the names of two Japanese national treasures. (added on May 3, 2011)
■ Bin - Dragon-head pitcher. It is one of National Treasures of Japan. The pitcher (bottle) is now called "bin" in Japanese.

Not Only Sarcastic Puns (added on January 22, 2009).

Today, I have been investigating a different event. But I have often been annoyed by unnecessary date coincidences. And I inadvertently checked Sarkozy's birthday. On his birthday, there was a political event. Then, Chirac's birthday, another political event. Though I didn't expect the same result in Ahmadinejad's birthday, another coincidence came out. As far as I know, Japan is the only country that chooses a prospective politician based on his or her birthday and pours a lot of money to foster a future national leader. Maybe France and Iran are Japan's puppet countries. I don't want to discuss this kind of sensitive issues. But the fact is strongly suggesting it.

date of the event January 27, 1973 in Western countries including France
January 28, 1973 in Asian countries including Vietnam and Japan
related event Paris Peace Accords
The Paris Peace Accords were the accords that intended to establish peace in Vietnam and an end to the Vietnam Conflict. The accords ended direct U.S. military involvement in Vietnam. However, North Vietnam neglected the accords and later invaded South Vietnam. The accords were an intolerable humiliation for the US.
causal relationship The accords were signed in Paris. But to tell the truth, Japan secretly supported North Vietnam and France only offered Paris as the signing venue.

The First Indochina War between the French army and the Vietnamese army broke out in 1946. Many Japanese soldiers participated in the Vietnamese army. At that time, 766 Japanese soldiers stayed behind. Some Japanese created a military school and trained 200 Vietnamese military officers. Among them, 8 Japanese soldiers were awarded later for their contribution by the Vietnamese government. While 150 Japanese left for home, others continued to stay in Vietnam (according to the Japanese Wikipedia).
(Please refer to Masanobu Tsuji and Japanese soldiers with the Viet Minh.)

When the Paris peace accords were signed, Mr. Sarkozy was 18 years old. He was chosen as a prospective political leader. Everything was prepared for the purpose. Three years later, the Rally for the Republic was founded by Jacques Chirac. Sarkozy joined it at the same time.

※ More importantly, Sarkozy was chosen based not on European calender but on Asian calender. The difference strongly suggests that some people not in Western hemisphere but in Asian hemisphere chose Sarkozy. Not people in France, but maybe people in Vietnam, probably in Japan.

causal relationship Chirac was originally inspired by General Charles de Gaulle. Along with Gerhard Schroeder, Chirac emerged as a leading voice against the Bush administration's conduct towards Iraq. He was always pro-Russian. His political stance has been always part of Japan's hidden agenda.

Chirac graduated from the university after the end of World War II. It is obvious that he was chosen around that period and that he was trained thoroughly toward a political career ladder.

France practices a
weather terrorism, too.

I have been translating the Japanese contents into English. Usually, it takes two or three days, but this time, I have needed more time. I stopped editing it on February 22. I began to edit a different urgent topic in Japanese on February 26. But I heard a BBC news about a storm around France.

But I believe that, like Japan, France is practicing a weather terrorism. There have been quite a few cases, but I can't explain fully as I don't speak French and as I can't penetrate French insinuation. And I have been hesitating to talk about it.

If I had uploaded this page as I scheduled, it would have coincided with the terrible storm in France. One of the purposes of the creation of a violent storm is to let the nation and the media look the other way, a familiar strategy used by the Japanese government.

Funny Political Puns (4)

Previously I talked about nine cases of puns of politicians' names. But I found another politician's name.

John McCain

He is winning Republican presidential nomination. He has been serving the US Congress as a legislator for over 20 years. Both his grandfather and his father were Admirals in the United States Navy. While generally adhering to American conservatism, he established a reputation as a political maverick for his willingness to defy Republican orthodoxy on several issues. Just on this point, he seems like Japanese former prime minister Junichiro Koizumi.

Unfortunately, for all his aggressiveness, his name represents an underdog, particularly in Japanese. The pronunciation of McCain is almost the same as that of makeinu in Japanese. Make means a loss and inu means a dog in Japanese.

There are quite a few Japanese web sites that ridicule his name. If he is elected president, some illicit Japanese will take the opportunity and ridicule him.
Incidentally, some Japanese even say that the name of another presidential candidate, Obama, is often confused with the name of Osama bin Laden.

Strange Puns in Japanese Crimes

Japanese crimes often look like individual ones, but they are often backed by the government behind the stage. They include the 300 million yen robbery affair in 1968, the poisoning in Wakayama in 1998, two Kazuyoshi Miuras, Aum Shinrikyo, only to name a few.

Moero Attack

Recently, I have found a strange pun in the murder of British teacher Lindsay Ann Hawker.

When I heard the name of Lindsay Hawker in the Japanese TV news, the Japanese pronunciation of her name sounded very strange to me. For a moment I thought that the news announcer said, "A-HO-KA", which means in Japanese "Are you a fool?". It was really a provocative pun. So, I checked the Google search engine, looking for the pun. Then , as I had expected, I found the following site.
This site is operated by Nippon Television Network Corporation, one of Japan's largest television broadcasting companies.

This site introduces an entertainment TV program in which an exploration story about albatrosses. Albatrosses are often called gooney birds or foolish gulls. Japanese call them "a-ho-do-ri", but the pronunciation is similar to "Ann Hawker", particularly when they ask if you are a fool in Japanese.

"A-ho-do-ri" literally means "a foolish bird" in Japanese. To make matters worse, the name of the British actor in the TV program is Lindsay. The story is very confusing and strange. And I tried to look for another pun. In some strange Japanese events, I often find more than one puns. And finally I found another one in this case, too.

The criminal is Tatsuya Ichihashi. In Japanese, he is called "Ichihashi-Tatsuya". The first Chinese character of his family name is "市". This Chinese character is pronounced either "ichi" or "shi" in Japanese. When we use different pronunciation, we can call him "Shihashi-Tatsuya". This is a provocative pun with "Shi-Ashita-Tsuya", literally meaning "death tomorrow funeral".

And, strangely enough, in Japanese Wikipedia, the name of the criminal is not described, instead an alias is used. I never know the reason.

These puns are never a coincidence. Nowadays, there are quite a few ugly, strange and provocative puns in Japan. This case is just the tip of the iceberg.

May she rest in peace. And the criminal should face the justice.

The Kyoto Protocol, a Blatant Lie

The Kyoto Protocol was doubtful from the start.

  1. The theory of global warming has often backtracked.

  2. The reason Japan was the chair country was vague.

  3. Some provisions were obviously against the US and rapidly developing countries.

  4. Utilization of nuclear energy was advantageous for Japan, which has been developing the fast-breeder nuclear reactor. Japan wish it would be a nuclear super power.
Why the Kyoto Protocol Failed
  1. Japan's target was determined without clear reasons. Japan was reluctant to reach the target from the very beginning. Now some analysts say that the amount of carbon dioxide emission in Japan will increase 14 percent till 2010 though the original target was 6 percent reduction.

  2. Trading of carbon dioxide emission rights is almost money laundering in some cases.

  3. The enormous amount of carbon dioxide that is emitted by vessels and airplanes used for international transportation is not counted in the Kyoto Protocol. It is said that it is almost impossible to determine the amount of country-by-country carbon dioxide emission. But it is in fact a trick.
The amount of carbon dioxide from international airplanes and vessels is huge. Japan is one of the nations which have the highest international transportation ratio. And the US has higher domestic transportation ratio. Japan imports a lot of crude oil from Middle East by tankers. But their carbon dioxide emission is excluded. On the other hand, many domestic cargo ships move between the East and the West coast through Panama Canal in the US. But their carbon dioxide emission is not excluded. There are enough reasons why the US does not join the Kyoto Protocol.

In the EU, most airplanes and ships move between countries. Their carbon dioxide emission is excluded. It is said that European countries have advanced measures to conserve energy. But you had better take their words with a grain of salt.

There are some crazy opinions among Japanese web sites. They say that they can kill two birds with one stone by carrying the garbage into the international petroleum tanker to burn it in the ship incinerator. They say that the incinerator can produce power. All the carbon dioxide emitted by the ship is excluded for sure.
Global Warming Theory Includes Lies

  1. Forests don't absorb carbon dioxide in total. On the one hand, forests absorb carbon dioxide. On the other, forests emit carbon dioxide through plants' breathing, decomposition, forest fires, and so on. Forests have maintained almost the same amount of carbon from ancient times.

  2. In the Antarctica, the ice is melting about the edge of the continent. But in the center, it snows more due to the moisture than in the past. The amount of ice in the Antarctica is actually increasing.

  3. In the Arctic, floating ice is really melting. Yet the sea level never rises. When ice melts, the volume shrinks. You can examine this phenomenon by throwing a piece of ice into a cup in which there is full of water. After melting of ice, the water will never spill over.

  4. Some areas in the Southern hemisphere is cooling.

  5. The increase of the amount of carbon dioxide causes the rise of the temperature. But the rise of the temperature also causes the increase of the amount of carbon dioxide. The ocean emits carbon dioxide when the temperature rises.

  6. The increase and decrease of vapor in the atmosphere has a greater impact than that of carbon dioxide on the change of the temperature of the atmosphere.

  7. The rise of the temperature promotes the growth of plants and increase the amount of carbon in the forest. Even a slight increase of carbon in the forest could decrease the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Then the balance of atmosphere is kept automatically.
Japan's Interest

  1. Japan tries to distract people's attention by relating the damage, caused by the environmental terrorism, to the global warming phenomena.

  2. Japan bogs down to the economic recession. It wishes that it would recover the position of economic power by disrupting other nations' economic activities.
Japan wins the Fossil-of-the-day Award in December 2008.

Nowadays, Japan is opposing the Kyoto Accord principle. It is getting shameful awards.

Japan's Conspiracy (33-2)

Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics

This well-known saying is part of a phrase attributed to Benjamin Disraeli and popularized in the U.S. by Mark Twain: There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. The semi-ironic statement refers to the persuasive power of numbers, and succinctly describes how even accurate statistics can be used to bolster inaccurate arguments (See Note 1).

=== One Example ===

1. Smokers live longer than non-smokers.

This is really a problematic question. The more correctly we take statistics, the more untrue results come out.

Smokers in their 70s have higher rates of life expectancy than non-smokers in their 70s have.

It neither means that smokers become healthier nor that non-smokers become ill. The fact is quite opposite. Healthy people smoke more often than ill people. Ill people are often prohibited from smoking. They sometimes voluntarily refrain from smoking. Some of them are already bed-ridden. That's why statistics often fall short of expectations.

Human beings are animals not machines. Their behaviors can not be explained from single aspect. The same thing can be said about the natural phenomena.

2. That's why bean counters pick up convenient statistical results. Nobody knows the accuracy of such statistics other than themselves. But they themselves are often deceived by the statistical results.

=== It is natural that there is criticism against my opinion. ===

Specific counterarguments would be beyond the scope of this topic. I think you can know what is right in the internet. But I would like to show why I say that the Kyoto Protocol is wrong.

1. Governments and administrations in Japan often prepare distractions before they do bad things. For example, when the government plots crimes, they make gangsters commit crimes. They want citizens to watch the police arresting gangsters. They wish people would think the government is right and perfect.

One good example was the put-up fight between then-president Alberto Fujimori and the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement in Peru (See Note 2). It was obvious that Fujimori used the guerillas in order to recover his popularity among Peruvians. The scenario may have been written by the Japanese government. The Kyoto Protocol was used to establish a public image of Japan as a developed nation on the environmental affairs before conducting weather terrorism.

2. Some famous professors and analysts have close relations with Japanese organizations. Some of them were already revealed that they received bribes from Japanese organizations. Even in the Internet, some sites are too much pro-Japanese. So far, Japan's campaign seems to have been successful.

3. Weather manipulation and weather terrorism in Japan are unpardonable. Such a country can abuse the international agreement but will never use it for world peace.

Japan's Conspiracy (33-3)

The Kyoto Protocol, a Blatant Lie (See Note 1)

The other day, I heard a chemistry professor criticize the global warming theory. He said as follows.

----

The statistics of the world temperatures are based on the total data of yearly average temperatures of many places of the world.

But, unfortunately, observation points are mostly located in urban areas. Urbanization and motorization has been rapidly advanced particularly in developing countries for the past 20 years.

In such cities, average temperatures of some local areas have rapidly risen. For example, although the average temperature has risen in Tokyo, average temperatures have not changed in some remote places in Japan for the past 20 years. In some agricultural areas in the US, average temperatures have even fallen.

Exactly speaking, temperature rise in statistics is somewhat groundless.

----
I am a skeptic. I couldn't agree more.
