The torrential rain on August 1 and the Heavy rains and debris on August 6 were the conspiracy of the Japanese government in which the two rainfall disasters were synchronized with the past samurai incidents in 1333. The Japanese government celebrated the new prime minister on the one hand while they bullied the region of ethnic minorities on the other.

1202 - ★Minamoto no Yoriie is appointed seii taishogun. The title is a military rank and historical title for hereditary military dictator of Japan.
1338 - ◆Kikuchi Takeshige makes Yoriaishu Naidan no Koto, meaning the rules of decision within Kikuchi clan with blood signature (keppanjo).
Kikuchi Takeshige was one of the leaders of the Kikuchi Clan, a powerful daimyo family of Kyushu. The Kikuchi lineage was renowned for its valiant service in defense of the emperor and against foreign invaders.

In order to strengthen Kikuchi clan, Kikuchi Takeshige made Yoriaishu Naidan no Koto, shortly before he died in 1338, meaning the rules of decision within Kikuchi clan with blood signature. This was translated into the Kikuchi Constitution, the oldest blood signature and this was stored in the Kikuchi Shrine.

It is obvious that the mass poisoning in July 25 1998 was carried out in commemoration of the blood signature. The document with blood signature was made in the village community. And the mass poisoning occurred at a community festival. In fact the year 1338 was Koki year 1998 in the Japanese traditional calendar.

Keppanjo, or blood signature, is a statement of oath. When the oath is made, the person cuts his or her finger and leaves their blood under their signature.
1584 - ★The Tensho embassy, an embassy sent by the Japanese Christian Lord Otomo Sorin to the Pope and the kings of Europe in 1582, reaches Lisbon.

The Mongols attempt to land Kyushu Island on August 12. But the invasion of Japan is foiled, as a large typhoon – famously called a kamikaze, or divine wind – destroys much of the combined Chinese and Korean fleet and forces, numbering over 140,000 men and 4,000 ships on August 15.
1325 - ◆Mudo-ji temple at Mount Hiei in Kyoto is struck by a lightning about 10:00 pm.
The lightning causes landslides and more than 30 temple houses suffer damage on August 12, 1325. The catastrophe becomes more serious the next day early morning. There are big thunderstorms and floods around 4:00 am. The death toll reaches about 500.
1604 - ★(birth) Tokugawa Iemitsu, third shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty.
1898 - ★The Hawaiian flag is lowered from Iolani Palace in an elaborate annexation ceremony and replaced with the flag of the United States to signify the transfer of sovereignty from the Republic of Hawaii to the United States.

1958 - ◆All Nippon Airways Flight 25 crashes off the coast of Shimoda. The cause of the accident was unable to clarify.
1985 - ◆Japan Airlines Flight 123 crashes into Osutaka ridge in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, killing 520, to become the worst single-plane air disaster.

The crash was a conspiracy manipulated by the Japanese government. The date was an exact pun on the lightning disaster in Kyoto on August 13, 1325 ( August 13, 1985 in the Japanese koki calendar).

1685 - ◆The first edict to protect animals, particularly dogs, is issued by the fifth shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi.
A collection of edicts were frequently released and were called the Edicts on Compassion for Living Things (Shorui awaremi no rei). It is said that Tsunayoshi was born in the Year of the Dog and that he thought he should take several measures concerning dogs. In fact he learned Confucianism in his childhood.

These rules for the living were rescinded after the shogun's death on March 1, 1709, as being too strict and unreasonable.

1926 - ★(birth) Fidel Castro, Cuban revolutionary and politician.
1985 - ◆The Sanko Steamship Company declares bankruptcy.
The Sanko Steamship Company was founded in 1934. Its operating area was the western Pacific Ocean around Japan, the Korean Peninsula and China. Its aggressive business expansion in the 1960s made the company one of the largest shipping companies in the world.

Although the bankruptcy was the largest at taht time in Japan, media coverage was small due to a devastating airplane crash accident which had occurred the previous day on August 12, 1985.

Toshio Komoto, the former president of the company and its largest stockholder, resigned from the cabinet the same day.

The day was the 300th anniversary of the first edict to protect animals (August 13, 1685).
2007 - ★An intercity passenger train heading to St. Petersburg from Moscow derails shortly before reaching Malaya Vishera after a bomb explosion.

Unit 684 was a South Korean "black operations" team whose mission was to kill North Korea's premier Kim Il-sung. But for reasons which remain unclear, Unit 684 members rose up and killed all but six of their guards and made their way to the mainland, where they hijacked a bus to Seoul.
